Throwback Game Reviews: Donkey Kong

I think many of you have no idea what this game is until you play it. Then, you say, hey, why is Mario in here? The answer lies in 1975. Nintendo at the time was a playing-card company and had just started to dabble in computer games. They didn’t really get much notice until they started making arcade games. Now, the Japanese company didn’t know how to handle the American market, but they went ahead with their games, of which EVR race was the first, not Donkey Kong, but nobody remembers the first game. They produced other games, but none so prominent as Donkey Kong. I doubt that jingle will ever get out of our heads. Anyway, this game led to two major series separate to their own, Donkey Kong Country and Super Mario.

Since I’m totally unbiased, I’m going to give this game 19/10 for cultural significance. And that concludes this Throwback Game Review.
